2022 and the Roadmap for the 2035 Oceania Summit
Following the decision taken in November to delay the 2035 Oceania Summit until 10-11 October 2022 , we are close to announcing a number of exciting pre-Summit initiatives.
Introducing the ½ day pre-Summit Workshops
Over the coming months, we are planning to host a number of 1/2 day pre-Summit workshops across the region. These are designed to enable researchers and entrepreneurs in different regional geographies to talk about their work in the AgriFoodTech / climate space. These discussions will help the Summit organisers build a series of potential collaborative engagements across the 2035 Oceania Summit platform in advance of the October event.
Expect details of the first 1/2 day pre-Summit workshop to appear in Wharf42’s first 2022 newsletter. Building a collaborative regional framework to support farmers and growers reduce their greenhouse gas emissions as well as build more resilient growing systems to address our changing climate is the key purpose for the Summit. Leveraging the region’s extensive science and research capability is a critical part of this process.

The delay to the 2035 Oceania Summit, whilst unfortunate, has provided the Steering Committee with the opportunity to build a strong set of new initiatives in the run-up to the October event. Our roadmap for 2022 will accelerate the purpose of the Summit and this will we believe, deliver a more significant long-term impact.
