The 2035 Oceania Summit formally launches at the APEC CEO Summit

It was great to be able to formally launch the 2035 Oceania Summit at today’s APEC CEO Summit in Auckland.

It was also appropriate that we launched the Summit during the ‘What Next for New Zealand’ session. There can be no greater long-term threat for our land and our people than the growing impact of climate change.

Across the Oceania region, our changing climate threatens both lives and livelihoods. More extreme weather events threaten to overwhelm our farmers and our growers ability to produce sustainable, affordable food. Across many of the Pacific Islands, that threat becomes ever more existential. Rising sea levels and increased food insecurity pose long-term challenges that the world must address.

This is the intention of the 2035 Oceania Summit; to enable the region’s scientific & research community, its industry leaders, agribusiness & agritech companies, farmers & growers, regulators and policy makers to meet and discuss how agrifood tech innovation and on-farm application can help address the existential threat posed by climate change.

If you did not have a chance to join us at the APEC CEO Summit today, please see the video recording of our launch presentation below.

We hope you can join us in Auckland next October.
